Winning proposals for the Race to the Top funding must qualify under five Criteria, and Aligned·By·Design ensures States can easily strongly qualify under all of them.  It's the visionary, end-to-end system that Race to the Top funds were allocated to enable States to envision, and it already exists! Below is a explanation of how Aligned·By·Design qualifies under each Criteria, the justification for the bullets in the graphic on the Selection Criteria page.


State Reform Conditions Criteria

  • Aligned·By·Design provides the tools enabling multiple teams of people to develop, manage, align, and share high-quality Standards, Classroom Curriculum, and  Assessments down at the discrete Knowledge/Skill item level, as well as maintaining the alignment as all materials evolve. 
  • Because Aligned·By·Design links all Educational materials back to common Knowledge/Skill items, it is an invaluable tool for transitioning from current State Standards to Common Core Standards, as different Standards are easily compared to see mutually exclusive items instantly.

Data Systems to Support Instruction

  • Aligned·By·Design is a web-based optimized data system that tracks Student and Teacher performance, with at a glance real-time views of which Students have learned which Knowledge/Skill items, yielding the exact data needed for high-quality management of the entire Educational system.
