Improving the Educational Process

Aligned·By·Design solves fundamental and complex educational problems to achieve and sustain high rates of student achievement. Thoughtful and detailed analysis of the educational enterprise resulted in the A·B·D system which offers a system-wide solution that fits all the educational pieces together in to a unified solution for success.

The Aligned·By·Design system allows any State Department of Education to achieve its visionary goals by:

a)  Enabling it to refine and present State Standards at their primitive, Knowledge-linked, detailed level;

b)  Providing a source of refined academic Standards that can be easily and permanently aligned to both Curriculum lesson plans and State Assessment items;

c)  Providing all school districts access to the A·B·D system tools and processes;

d)   Providing A·B·D tools to Teachers for use at the classroom level.



Aligned·By·Design allows States to promulgate Common Core and other State Standards and leaves no doubt or question as to what needs to be learned and what is going to be assessed by end-of-year tests. It answers the pressing question facing teachers - “What am I really supposed to teach?” With Aligned·By·Design, everything is defined. It is fully descriptive without being prescriptive, focusing on the delivery of Knowledge and skills, not the generalized concepts.

Aligned·By·Design allows States to easily develop complete, perfectly aligned  instructional Curriculum models and promulgate them to Districts and Teachers for direct adoption and use, or adaptation and use, or simply for use as a reference model of perfectly aligned, classroom usable materials. At the same time, A·B·D functionality extends beyond the State and offers Districts and Teachers the tools and processes necessary to develop their own completely aligned instructional Curriculum independently or based on the State or other model Curriculum.

As Aligned·By·Design is implemented, Teachers require less time and effort to prepare instructional curriculum for use in the classroom. By utilizing content from A·B·D libraries and actually hosting the classroom curriculum using the A·B·D system, instructional curriculum is guaranteed to be 100% aligned.

Having clearly defined content Standards and the Knowledge they represent, Aligned·By·Design facilitates the natural alignment of Standards, Curriculum and Assessments and brings that alignment to the classroom. A·B·D enables a process of continuous improvement and provides the mechanism for sustainment of hard earned incremental improvements.
